အခန်းကြီး - ၃၈

1 ဖန်ထာဝရဘုရား၏ နှုတ်ကပတ်တော်သည် ငါ့ဆီသို့ရောက်လာ၍၊
² အချင်းလူသား၊ ရောရှပြည်၊ မေရှက်ပြည်၊ တုဗလပြည်ကို အစိုးရသော မာဂေါဂပြည်သား ဂေါဂမင်းတဘက်၌ မျက်နှာထား၍ ပရောဖက်ပြုလျက်၊
³ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား၏ အမိန့်တော်ကို ဆင့်ဆို ရမည်မှာ၊ ရောရှ၊ မေရှက်၊ တုဗလပြည်တို့ကို အစိုးရသော အိုဂေါဂမင်း၊ သင့်တဘက်၌ ငါနေ၏။
⁴ သင့်ကို ငါပြန်လာစေမည်။ သင့်ပါးရိုးကို သံချိတ် နှင့်ချိတ်ပြီးလျှင်၊ သင်မှစ၍ထူးဆန်းသော လက်နက်စုံ အမျိုးမျိုးကို ဆောင်သောသူ၊ ဒိုင်းလွှားပါ၍ ထားကို လက်စွဲသောလူအလုံးအရင်းများနှင့် မြင်း၊ မြင်းစီးသူရဲ ဗိုလ်ခြေ အပေါင်းတို့ကို ငါဆောင်ခဲ့မည်။
⁵ အသီးအသီး ဒိုင်လွှားကိုင်၍ သံခမောက်လုံးကို ဆောင်းသောပေရသိပြည်သား၊ ကုရှပြည်သား၊ ဖုတပြည်သား၊
⁶ ဂေါမာနှင့်သူ၏တပ်များ၊ မြောက်ပြည်သား တောဂါမအမျိုးနှင့် သူ၏တပ်များအလုံးအရင်း အပေါင်း တို့သည် သင်နှင့်အတူ လိုက်လာကြလိမ့်မည်။
⁷ သင်သည် မိမိ၌ စုဝေးသောလူအလုံးအရင်းများ နှင့်တကွ ကိုယ်ကိုပြင်ဆင်လော့။ ပြင်ဆင်လျက်နေလော့။ သူတို့ကို စောင့်လျက်နေလော့။
⁸ ကြာမြင့်စွာ ကာလလွန်ပြီးမှ သင်သည် အုပ်ချုပ် ရသောအခွင့်ရှိလိမ့်မည်။ ထားဘေးနှင့်လွတ်၍ လူ အမျိုးမျိုးထဲက နှုတ်သောပြည်သား၊ ကြာမြင့်စွာ ဆိတ်ညံ လျက်နေသော ဣသရေလတောင်တို့အပေါ်သို့၊ တဖန်ဆောင်ခဲ့သော ပြည်သားတို့ရှိရာသို့ နောင်ကာလ၌ သင်သည်စစ် ချီ၍လာလိမ့်မည်။ ထိုပြည်သားတို့သည် လူအမျိုးမျိုးထဲက နှုန်ဆောင်သောသူဖြစ်၍၊ တပြည်လုံး ငြိမ်ဝပ်လျက်ရှိနေသောအခါ၊
⁹ သင်သည်မိုဃ်းသက်မုန်တိုင်းကဲ့သို့တက်လာ၍၊ သင်၌ပါသော သမျှသော တပ်သားအလုံးအရင်းနှင့် တကွ၊ ထိုပြည်ကို မိုဃ်းအုံ့သကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။
¹⁰ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူသည်ကား၊ ထိုအခါ သင်သည် အရာရာတို့ကို အောက်မေ့၍ မကောင်းသော အကြံကိုကြံစည်လျက်၊
¹¹ ရွာဇနပုဒ်များသောပြည်၊ မြို့ရိုးမရှိ၊ တံခါး ကျင်နှင့်တံခါးမရှိ၊ စိုးရိမ်စရာအကြောင်းအလျှင်းမရှိ၊ ငြိမ်ဝပ်သောပြည်သားတို့ရှိရာသို့ ငါချီသွား၍၊
¹² သူတို့ဥစ္စာကို လုယက်သိမ်းယူမည်။ အရင် ဆိတ်ညံ၍ ယခုလူနေသောအရပ်တို့ကို၎င်း၊ လူအမျိုးမျိုးထဲက စုဝေးသဖြင့် တိရစ္ဆာန်များနှင့် ဥစ္စာများကိုရတတ်၍၊ ပြည်အလယ်၌နေသောသူတို့ကို၎င်း တိုက်မည်ဟု ကြံစည်လိမ့်မည်။
¹³ ရှေဘပြည်သား၊ ဒေဒန်ပြည်သား၊ တာရှု ကုန်သည်များ၊ ခြင်္သေ့ပျိုယူခြင်းငှါ လာသလော။ သူ့ ဥစ္စာကို ဝေငှ၍၎င်း သိမ်းသွားလျက်၊ များစွာသော လုယက်ဖျက်ဆီးခြင်းငှါ အပေါင်းအသင်းကို စုဝေးစေပြီ လောဟု မေးမြန်းကြလိမ့်မည်။
¹⁴ သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ အချင်းလူသား၊ ပရောဖက်ပြု၍ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား၏ အမိန့်တော်ကို ဂေါဂအားဆင့်ဆို ရမည်မှာ၊ ငါ၏လူ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ငြိမ်ဝပ် စွာနေသောအခါ သင်သည်သိ၍၊
¹⁵ မြင်းစီးသောသူ အလုံးအရင်းအပေါင်း၊ အားကြီး သောစစ်သူရဲအပေါင်းတို့နှင့်တကွ မြောက်မျက်နှာမှ ချီလာမည်။
¹⁶ ပြည်ကို မိုဃ်းအုံ့သကဲ့သို့ ငါ၏လူဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားတို့ကို တက်၍တိုက်လာမည်။ နောင်ကာလတွင် ငါ၏ပြည်တဘက်၌ သင့်ကို ငါဆောင်ခဲ့မည်မဟုတ်လော။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ အိုဂေါဂ၊ လူအမျိုးမျိုးတို့ မျက်မှောက်၌ သင့်အားဖြင့် ငါသည်ချီးမြှောက်ရာသို့ ရောက်သောအခါ၊ သူတို့သည် ငါ့ကိုသိရကြမည်အကြောင်းတည်း။
¹⁷ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူသည်ကား၊ ငါသည် စစ်ချီစေမည် ဟု၊ လွန်လေပြီးသောရှေးကာလ၌ ပရောဖက်ပြုသောငါ၏ ကျွန်ဣသရေလ ပရောဖက်တို့ အား ငါသည်ဗျာဒိတ်ပေးသောအခါ၊ သင့်ကိုရည်မှတ် သည်မဟုတ်လော။
¹⁸ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူသည်ကား၊ ထိုကာလတွင်ဂေါဂသည် ဣသရေလပြည်ကို တိုက်လာ သောကာလအခါ၊ ငါသည်ဒေါသအရှိန် ထ၍ အမျက် ထွက်လိမ့်မည်။
¹⁹ အကယ်စင်စစ် ထိုအခါ ဣသရေလပြည်၌ကြီးစွာ သော လှုပ်ရှားခြင်းဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်ဟု ငါ၏ဒေါသမီးလောင် လျက် ငါပြောပြီ။
²⁰ ပင်လယ်ငါး၊ မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်ငှက်၊ တော တိရစ္ဆာန်နှင့် မြေ၌တွားတတ်သောတိရစ္ဆာန်၊ မြေပေါ်မှာ ရှိသော လူအပေါင်းတို့သည် ငါ့ရှေ့မှာ တုန်လှုပ်ကြ လိမ့်မည်။ တောင်တို့သည်ပြိုလျက်၊ အစောက်မြင့်သော အရပ်တို့သည် လဲလျက်၊ အလုံးစုံသောအိုတ်ရိုး ပြုတ်လျက် ရှိကြလိမ့်မည်။
²¹ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူသည်ကား၊ ငါ့တောင်များ အရပ်ရပ်တို့တွင် သူ့တဘက်၌ထားကို ငါမှာလိုက်သဖြင့်၊ လူအပေါင်းတို့သည် တယောက်ကို တယောက်ထားနှင့် ခုတ်ကြလိမ့်မည်။
²² ငါသည်ကာလနာဘေး၊ အသေသတ်ခြင်းဘေး အားဖြင့် သူ့ကိုဒဏ်ပေးမည်။ သူနှင့်သူ၌ပါသောတပ်များ၊ အလုံးအရင်းများအပေါ်မှာ လွှမ်းမိုးသောမိုဃ်းရေ၊ ကြီး သောမိုဃ်းသီး၊ ကန့်နှင့်ရောသောမီးမိုဃ်းကို ရွာစေမည်။
²³ ထိုသို့ငါသည် ကိုယ်ကိုချီးမြော်က၍ ရိုသေဘွယ် သော ဂုဏ်လက္ခဏာတို့ကိုပြလျက်၊ များစွာသောလူမျိုးတို့ ရှေ့မှာ ထင်ရှားသောအခါ၊ ငါသည်ထာဝရဘုရား ဖြစ်ကြောင်းကို သူတို့သိရကြလိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

38:1–39:29 These chapters form a literary unit and contain a prophecy about Gog, of the land of Magog. The principal message is transparent: In the future (38:8, 16) Gog will launch, from the far north (38:6, 15; 39:2), his antagonistic campaign with his allies (38:2–8) against Israel after the Jews have returned from the Assyrian/Babylonian captivity (38:8, 12; 39:23, 25, 27–28) and are living securely in their land (38:8, 14; 39:26). Then the divine judgment (38:18–22; 39:2–6, 17–20) will destroy Gog and his confederacy upon the mountains of Israel (39:4, 15); thus Israel (39:7, 22, 28) and all nations will know that the Lord is God (38:16, 23; 39:6b, 7, 13b, 21, 28) and His holiness will be vindicated (38:16b, 23; 39:7, 27).

38:2 against Gog. Gog is a mysterious enemy of God and His people, whose identity is unclear probably by plan. The prediction of attack and defeat of Gog and his allies, however, never occurred in history, even though it could have happened under different circumstances. But this potential historical situation serves as a type (symbol) for a threefold fulfillment:

 

၁. ခရစ်တော်၌။ (ဣသရေလ၏ ပုဂ္ဂိုလ်ရေးဆိုင်ရာ သို့မဟုတ် ဣသရေလ၏ ကိုယ်စားလှယ်အဖြစ် နိယာမအားဖြင့် ပြည့်စုံသည်၊ ထွက်မြောက်ရာကျမ်း ၄:၂၂၊ ဟေရှာယ ၄၉:၁–၇၊ ၅၂:၁၃–၅၃:၁၂၊ ၆၁:၁–၃၊ ဟောရှဲ ၁၁:၁၊ မဿဲ ၂:၁၅၊ တမန်တော် ၈:၃၀–၃၅ နှင့် နှိုင်းယှဉ်ပါ)။ “ဂေါဂ်နှင့် မဂေါဂ်၏ စစ်တပ်များ” သည် ခရစ်တော်ကို ဖျက်ဆီးရန် ပေါင်းစည်းခဲ့သည် (တ ၄:၂၇ ကို ကြည့်ပါ)။ သို့သော် ဘုရားသခင်သည် ခရစ်တော်အတွက် ဝင်ရောက်စွက်ဖက်ပြီး သူ့ကို သေခြင်းမှ ထမြောက်စေခဲ့သည် (တ ၂:၂၄၊ ၃၂)။

1. In Christ (fulfilled in principle in the life of the Personified Israel or Representative of Israel; see Ex. 4:22; Is. 49:1–7; 52:13–53:12; 61:1–3; Hos. 11:1; compare with Matt. 2:15; Acts 8:30–35). “The armies of Gog and Magog” were united to crush Him (see Acts 4:27). However, God intervened on behalf of Christ and raised Him up from the dead (Acts 2:24, 32).

2. In the church, fulfilled in multiple analogical situations in principle (Israel consisting of believing Jews and Gentiles). What happened to Jesus Christ is also experienced by His people. Any attack on the church of God, His covenant people, is an attack against God Himself, because Jesus intimately identifies with His followers who share Abraham’s faith (Zech. 2:8; Matt. 25:40, 45). The conspiracy ultimately fails against the faithful followers of God who respond in obedience to Him and His law.

These first two fulfillments are only fulfillments in principle and do not preclude a particular eschatological/apocalyptic fulfillment at the end of time; on the contrary, they lead to it. The third fulfillment is the primary or full-fulfillment.

 

၃. အချိန်ကုန်ဆုံးချိန်တွင် (ဧဒျသတ္တဗေဒဆိုင်ရာ/ဗျာဒိတ်ဆိုင်ရာ ပြည့်စုံခြင်း)။ ဗျာဒိတ်ကျမ်းအရ၊ ဤပရောဖက်ပြုချက်သည် ခရစ်တော်ကြွလာချိန်နှင့် ထောင်စုနှစ်ကာလပြီးဆုံးချိန်တွင် သတ်မှတ်ထားသော ပြည့်စုံခြင်းရှိသည်။ ယေရှုသည် နောက်ဆုံးစစ်ပွဲ၏ အောင်မြင်သူဖြစ်သည် (ဗျာဒိတ် ၁၇:၁၄)၊ ထို့ကြောင့် သူ့ကိုရွေးချယ်သူတိုင်း၊ သူနှင့်ဆက်နွှယ်ပြီး သူနှင့်အတူရပ်တည်သူတိုင်းသည် သူ၏အောင်မြင်ခြင်းတွင် ပါဝင်နိုင်သည် (ဗျာဒိတ် ၃:၂၀–၂၁၊ ၁၂:၁၀–၁၁၊ ၁၆:၁၅)။

3. At the time of the end (the eschatological/apocalyptic fulfillment). According to the book of Revelation, this prophecy has specific fulfillment, both at the time of Christ’s coming and at the end of the Millennium. Jesus is the victor of the ultimate war (Rev. 17:14), and everyone who chooses Him, who identifies and stands with Him, can share in His victory (Rev. 3:20–21; 12:10–11; 16:15).

38:3 Thus says the Lord God. The statement appears seven times (vv. 3, 10, 14, 17; 39:1, 17, 25), thus dividing chaps. 38–39 into seven parts after the introduction (38:1–2): (1) presentation of Gog and his allies (38:3–9); (2) Gog’s pride and plot (38:10–13); (3) Gog coming against Israel (38:14–16); (4) destruction of Gog’s forces by God’s judgment (38:17–23); (5) destruction and burial of Gog and his allies (39:1–16); (6a) Gog’s confederation at God’s sacrificial feast (39:17–22); (6b) Israel in exile for their sins (39:23–24); (7) restoration of the fortunes of Israel after captivity (39:25–29).

38:4 What is first mentioned as God’s action (38:4–16; 39:2) turns into a description of Gog’s own evil device (38:10). He deliberately planned to destroy Israel (vv. 10–12), and his pride led to his own destruction (see the stress on “I” in vv. 11–12). Gog’s pride and destruction closely reflects Lucifer’s pride and fall as described in Is. 14:12–15 (compare with Ezek. 28:17–19). It is also similar to the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart, which is attributed to both Pharaoh (plagues 1–5) and God (plagues 6–10; see note on Ex. 4:21).

38:5–6 There are five nations listed as Gog’s allies: Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, Gomer, and Togarmah (representing the northern extreme of the world known to Israel), besides Meshech and Tubal (the southern extreme) already mentioned in v. 2. Thus, there are altogether seven nations in confederation whose names are derived from Gen. 10:2–3, 6, and Ezek. 27:10, 13–14. The number seven plays a significant role in this prophecy and the entire book of Ezekiel, symbolizing completeness or totality, and in this specific context points to a universal conspiracy, a world plot against Israel. The phrase “Thus says the Lord God” is used seven times; “for seven years” (39:9) the weapons of defeated Gog’s army will be used for fuel; the seven months are needed for burying the bodies (39:12, 14). Previously in the book, there are prophecies against the seven foreign nations (chaps. 25–32); the prophet utters seven oracles against Egypt (29:1–16, 17–21; 30:1–19, 20–26; 31:1–18; 32:1–16, 17–32); and there are seven woes expressed in the book (13:3, 18; 16:23 [twice]; 24:6, 9; 34:2).

38:8 Gog and his allies attack a land (see also vv. 11, 16), the mountains of Israel (see 39:2), “My people Israel” (v. 16), and the “land of Israel” (v. 18). After many days … In the latter years. Ezekiel uses three time expressions—“after many days” (v. 8); “in the latter years” (v. 8); and “in the latter days” (v. 16)—which give a general future-time framework to this prophecy.

38:16 in the latter days. This time expression is used 12 additional times in the Hebrew portion of the OT—Gen. 49:1; Num. 24:14; Deut. 4:40; 31:29; Is. 2:2; Jer. 23:20; 30:24; 48:47; 49:39; Dan. 10:14; Hos. 3:5; Mic. 4:1. It is also used once in the Aramaic portion of the book of Daniel (Dan. 2:28) and basically means “in the after(wards) of the days,” “in the following time,” “in the future,” “in days to come,” “in those future days,” or “in the latter days.” It is without any specific time reference to the time of the end. The meaning depends on the application of the context. The prophecy about Gog’s invasion against God’s people is to be fulfilled in the future (as seen from the perspective of the prophet Ezekiel) after Israel returns from Babylonian captivity (39:23, 25, 27). “Gog and Magog” are future enemies, and they will attack only after Israel is living securely in their land when they are at peace with their neighbors and under no visible threat (38:11–12). when I am hallowed in you. When God’s character is vindicated through Gog’s actions before the nations. For a positive aspect of vindication, see 36:23. God is uncovering Gog’s work and course of action, showing his awful character clearly through his behavior. Thus God’s action against him is justified, and He is vindicated as the God of love, truth, and justice.

38:17 A key statement of the prophecy, which affirms that God through His prophets spoke about Gog in former days. It means that God spoke in the past about him in a general sense, because nowhere else in the OT is a direct prophecy about Gog mentioned. The name Gog appears only one other time (1 Chr. 5:4), but it is in a genealogy and not in a prophecy.
