Amos 5:23

Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not bear the melody of thy viols.

"သင်၏သီချင်းသံများကို ငါ့ထံမှ ဖယ်ရှားလော့။
အကြောင်းမူကား၊ သင်၏စောင်းသံကို ငါနားမထောင်လို။"

Answer

There are churches that think it wrong to play musical instruments in their services. However, instruments were used in the sacred services of God in the Old Testament. Notice that David appointed singers and instruments. “And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy" (1 Chronicles 15:16). Solomon also "made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day" (I Kings 10:12). The priest “did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God" (1 Chronicles 15:24).In the heavenly courts the twenty-four elders also use instruments. “And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song" (Revelation 5:8,9). Those that use the text in question to forbid musical instruments in sacred service should consider that the prophet is speaking about “solemn assemblies" (verse 21) that had become detestable to God.

ရှောလမုန်မင်းကြီးသည်လည်း "ထာဝရအရှင်၏အိမ်တော်နှင့် မင်း၏နန်းတော်အတွက် အလ်မုတ်သစ်သားများဖြင့် တိုင်များကို ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့သည်။ ထို့အပြင်၊ သီဆိုသူများအတွက် စောင်းနှင့် လည်တုတ်များကို ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့သည်။ ထိုကဲ့သို့သော အလ်မုတ်သစ်သားများသည် ယခုတိုင်အောင် မရှိခဲ့ပါ" (၁ ရာဇဝင်ချုပ် ၁၀:၁၂)။

ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ်များသည် "ဘုရားသခင်၏သေတ္တာတော်ရှေ့တွင် နှုတ်မှုတ်ကြိမ်များဖြင့် မှုတ်ကြသည်" (၁ ရာဇဝင်ချုပ် ၁၅:၂၄)။

ကောင်းကင်ဘုံတွင်၊ အသက်ကြီးသူ ၂၄ ဦးသည်လည်း တူရိယာများကို အသုံးပြုကြသည်—
"ထိုသူသည် စာစောင်ကို ယူတော်မူသောအခါ၊ သတ္တဝါလေးပါးနှင့် အသက်ကြီးသူ ၂၄ ဦးတို့သည် သိုးသူငယ်ရှေ့တွင် ပြပ်ဝပ်ကိုးကွယ်ကြသည်။ သူတို့တစ်ဦးစီတိုင်းတွင် စောင်းနှင့် ရွှေဖလားများရှိကြသည်။ ထိုဖလားများတွင် သန့်ရှင်းသူတို့၏ ဆုတောင်းခြင်းများဖြစ်သော နံ့သာပေါင်းများ ပြည့်နေသည်။ သူတို့သည် သီချင်းသစ်တစ်ပုဒ်ကို သီဆိုကြသည်" (ဗျာဒိတ် ၅:၈-၉)။

ဤကျမ်းပိုဒ်ကို ကိုးကွယ်ဝတ်ပြုခြင်းတွင် တူရိယာများကို တားမြစ်ရန် အသုံးပြုသူများသည်၊ တမန်တော်အာမုတ်သည် "အခမ်းအနားများ" (၂၁ း) နှင့်ပတ်သက်၍ ပြောဆိုနေခြင်းကို သတိပြုသင့်သည်။ ထိုအခမ်းအနားများသည် ဘုရားသခင်အား ရွံမုန်းဖွယ်ဖြစ်သော ဝတ်ပြုမှုများဖြစ်သည်။
