Leviticus 3:17

"It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood."

"သင်တို့သည် အဆီကိုလည်းကောင်း၊ သွေးကိုလည်းကောင်း၊ မစားရ။ ဤပညတ်သည် သင်တို့၏နေရာအရပ်ရပ်တွင် သင်တို့၏မျိုးဆက်တိုင်းအတွက် ထာဝရပညတ်တစ်ရပ် ဖြစ်ရမည်။"

 

Answer

I have met some people from a particular denomination that use this text as a proof text against blood transfusion. First of all, blood transfusion is not the issue, since that practice never existed in those days, it was the eating of the blood of animals that was the issue. Hundreds of years before God gave this admonition to the Jews, He said to Noah and his family, “But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat"(Genesis 9:4).This same prohibition the Lord made in the New Testament: That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well"(Acts 15:29). In transfusion, it is human blood that is used, not that of animals. Jesus question to the Jews is applicable when it comes to saving life. “Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; is it lawful on the Sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?" (Luke 6:9). In other words, if it was important to save life even on the Sabbath, then it important to save lives at other times. Transfusions have saved thousands of lives.

 

ဤကျမ်းပိုဒ်ကို အချို့သောဂိုဏ်းဂဏမှ လူများက သွေးသွင်းခြင်းကို ဆန့်ကျင်ရန် အထောက်အထားအဖြစ် အသုံးပြုကြသည်။ ပထမဦးစွာ၊ သွေးသွင်းခြင်းသည် ဤကျမ်းပိုဒ်၏ အဓိကအကြောင်းအရာ မဟုတ်ပါ။ အဘယ်ကြောင့်ဆိုသော် ထိုခေတ်ကာလတွင် သွေးသွင်းခြင်းဟူသော အလေ့အထ မရှိခဲ့ပေ။ ဤပညတ်တော်သည် တိရစ္ဆာန်များ၏သွေးကို စားသုံးခြင်းနှင့် ပတ်သက်သည်။

ဘုရားသခင်သည် ဤသတိပေးချက်ကို ယုဒလူများအား ပေးခဲ့သည့် နှစ်ပေါင်းရာချီမတိုင်မီ၊ နောဧနှင့်သူ၏မိသားစုအား "သို့သော် အသက်နှင့်အတူရှိသော အသား၊ သို့တည်းမဟုတ် သွေးကို မစားရ" (ကမ္ဘာဦးကျမ်း ၉:၄) ဟု မိန့်တော်မူခဲ့သည်။ ထို့ပြင် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဓမ္မသစ်ကျမ်းတွင်လည်း ဤသို့ပညတ်ထားသည်၊ "ထို့ကြောင့် ရုပ်တုများအတွက် ယဇ်ပူဇော်သော အသားများ၊ သွေး၊ လည်ပင်းညှစ်သတ်သော အသားများနှင့် မတရားသောကာမဂုဏ်တို့မှ ရှောင်ကြဉ်ရန် ငါတို့သည် ဆုံးဖြတ်ကြသည်။ ဤအရာများမှ ရှောင်ကြဉ်လျှင် သင်တို့သည် ကောင်းစွာနေထိုင်နိုင်ကြလိမ့်မည်။ ငြိမ်သက်ခြင်းရှိကြလော့" (တမန်တော်ဝတ္ထု ၁၅:၂၉)။

သွေးသွင်းခြင်းတွင် အသုံးပြုသော သွေးသည် တိရစ္ဆာန်၏သွေးမဟုတ်ဘဲ လူ၏သွေးဖြစ်သည်။ ယေရှုခရစ်တော်က ယုဒလူများအား မေးခွန်းတစ်ခု မေးခဲ့သည်မှာ အသက်ကယ်ခြင်းနှင့် ပတ်သက်၍ အရေးကြီးသော သင်ခန်းစာဖြစ်သည်၊ "ထိုအခါ ယေရှုက သူတို့အား မိန့်တော်မူသည်မှာ၊ ငါသည် သင်တို့အား တစ်ခုသောအရာကို မေးမည်။ ဥပုသ်နေ့၌ ကောင်းသောအမှုကို ပြုခြင်းသည် တရားသလော၊ ဒုစရိုက်ကို ပြုခြင်းသည် တရားသလော။ အသက်ကို ကယ်ခြင်းသည် တရားသလော၊ ဖျက်ဆီးခြင်းသည် တရားသလော" (လုကာ ၆:၉)။ တစ်နည်းအားဖြင့်၊ ဥပုသ်နေ့တွင် အသက်ကယ်ခြင်းသည် အရေးကြီးပါက၊ အခြားအချိန်များတွင်လည်း အသက်ကယ်ခြင်းသည် အရေးကြီးသည်။ သွေးသွင်းခြင်းသည် လူထောင်ပေါင်းများစွာ၏ အသက်ကို ကယ်တင်ခဲ့သည်။
