Amos 8:5

Saying when will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? And the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the epbab small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

အာမုတ် ၈:၅

"လအသစ်ကုန်လျှင် စပါးရောင်းရန်၊ ဥပုသ်နေ့ကုန်လျှင် ဂျုံရောင်းရန်၊
အဲဖါတို့ကို ငယ်စေ၍၊ ရွှေငွေကို ကြီးစေ၍၊
လိမ်လည်လှည့်ဖြားသော ချိန်ခွင်များဖြင့် လှည့်စားကြလော့ဟု ပြောဆိုကြသည်။"

Answer

There were apostates in Amos’ day that were making a pretense of religion for their own gain. It was this state of being that prompted God to declare, “the end is come upon my people Israel" (verse 2). These mercenaries were anxious for the Sabbath to end so that they could sell their ware dishonestly, utilizing false balances. The “new moon” was the first day of the month (1 Samuel 20:5, 24, 27), and it was devoted to religious services. As a result, all trade was suspended. (See Numbers 28:11; 2 Kings 4:23.) This verse has nothing to do with the Sabbath permanently terminating, but rather when the religious day would end. This problem existed during the time of

Nehemiah. He reminded the people of God in respect to their responsibilities in being faithful to him by obeying His precepts. He said, “And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day"(Nehemiah 10:31)

Sadly, there are those today that try to use this verse for the purpose of declaring that the Sabbath has ended. This is a stretch that cannot be supported at all from the context. It is the crooked, not God, that are greedily asking the question. They were anxious to take financial advantage of the people, which could not be done during religious activities.

ဝမ်းနည်းစရာကောင်းသည်မှာ၊ ယနေ့အချို့လူများက ဤကျမ်းပိုဒ်ကို ဥပုသ်နေ့ပြီးဆုံးပြီဟု ကြေညာရန် အသုံးပြုကြသည်။ ဤအဓိပ္ပာယ်ကောက်ယူခြင်းသည် ကျမ်းစာ၏အကြောင်းအရာနှင့် လုံးဝမကိုက်ညီပါ။ ဤကျမ်းပိုဒ်တွင် မေးခွန်းကို မေးနေသူများမှာ ဘုရားသခင်မဟုတ်၊ လူဆိုးများဖြစ်သည်။ သူတို့သည် ဘာသာရေးလုပ်ငန်းများအတွင်း မပြုလုပ်နိုင်သော ငွေကြေးအမြတ်ထုတ်မှုများကို စိတ်အားထက်သန်စွာ လုပ်ဆောင်လိုနေကြသည်။
