chapter 4

1 (Ps. 11:6; John 8:44). Root and Branches of Evil.—The whole work of the father of lies is recorded in the statute books of heaven, and those who lend themselves to the service of Satan, to put forth and present to men the lies of Satan by precept and practice, will receive according to their deeds. Root and branch will be destroyed by the fires of the last days. Satan, the great general of apostasy, is the root, and all his workers, who teach his lies in regard to the law of God, are the branches (MS 58, 1897).

5, 6. The Elijah Message.—In this age, just prior to the second coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven, God calls for men who will prepare a people to stand in the great day of the Lord. Just such a work as that which John did, is to be carried on in these last days. The Lord is giving messages to His people, through the instruments He has chosen, and He would have all heed the admonitions and warnings He sends. The message preceding the public ministry of Christ was, Repent, publicans and sinners; repent, Pharisees and Sadducees; “for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Our message is not to be one of peace and safety. As a people who believe in Christ’s soon appearing, we have a definite message to bear,—“Prepare to meet thy God.”

၅၊ ၆။ ဧလိယ၏ သတင်းစကား။—ခရစ်တော်သည် မိုးတိမ်စီး၍ ဒုတိယအကြိမ် ကြွလာတော်မူခြင်း မတိုင်မီ ဤခေတ်ကာလတွင်၊ ဘုရားသခင်သည် သခင်ဘုရား၏ ကြီးမြတ်သောနေ့ရက်၌ ရပ်တည်နိုင်မည့် လူမျိုးတစ်စုကို ပြင်ဆင်ပေးမည့် လူသားများကို ခေါ်ယူတော်မူနေသည်။ ယောဟန် လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့သည့်အတိုင်းသော အမှုမျိုးကို ဤနောက်ဆုံးသောနေ့ရက်များ၌ ဆက်လက်လုပ်ဆောင်ရမည် ဖြစ်သည်။ သခင်ဘုရားသည် မိမိရွေးကောက်ထားသော တန်ဆာပလာများအားဖြင့် မိမိ၏လူမျိုးများထံသို့ သတင်းစကားများကို ပေးသနားတော်မူနေပြီး၊ ကိုယ်တော်စေလွှတ်တော်မူသော ဆုံးမသတိပေးချက်များနှင့် သတိပေးနှိုးဆော်ချက် အားလုံးကို လူတိုင်း ဂရုပြုစေလိုတော်မူသည်။ ခရစ်တော်၏ လူအများရှေ့ အမှုတော်လုပ်ငန်း မစတင်မီ ရှေ့ပြေးဖြစ်သော သတင်းစကားမှာ၊ အခွန်ခံများနှင့် လူဆိုးတို့၊ နောင်တရကြလော့။ ဖာရိရှဲများနှင့် ဇဒ္ဒုကဲတို့၊ နောင်တရကြလော့။ “ကောင်းကင်နိုင်ငံတော်သည် တည်လုနီးပြီ” ဟူ၍ ဖြစ်သည်။ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ သတင်းစကားသည် ငြိမ်သက်ခြင်းနှင့် ဘေးကင်းခြင်းဆိုင်ရာ သတင်းစကား မဟုတ်ရပေ။ ခရစ်တော် မကြာမီ ကြွလာတော့မည်ဟု ယုံကြည်သော လူမျိုးတစ်စုအနေဖြင့်၊ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၌ ထမ်းဆောင်ရမည့် တိကျပြတ်သားသော သတင်းစကားတစ်ခု ရှိသည်၊ ၎င်းမှာ—“သင်၏ ဘုရားသခင်နှင့် တွေ့ဆုံရန် ပြင်ဆင်လော့” ဟူ၍ ဖြစ်သည်။

Our message must be as direct as was that of John. He rebuked kings for their iniquity. Notwithstanding the peril his life was in, he never allowed truth to languish on his hits. Our work in this age must be as faithfully done. …

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ သတင်းစကားသည် ယောဟန်၏ သတင်းစကားကဲ့သို့ပင် တိုက်ရိုက်ကျရမည်။ သူသည် ရှင်ဘုရင်များကိုပင် သူတို့၏ ဒုစရိုက်အပြစ်များအတွက် ဆုံးမပြစ်တင်ခဲ့သည်။ သူ၏ အသက်အန္တရာယ် ရှိနေလင့်ကစား၊ သူသည် မိမိ၏ နှုတ်ခမ်းဖျား၌ သမ္မာတရားကို မည်သည့်အခါမျှ အားနည်းမှေးမှိန်သွားခြင်း မရှိစေခဲ့ပေ။ ဤခေတ်ကာလတွင် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ အမှုတော်ကိုလည်း ထိုကဲ့သို့ပင် သစ္စာရှိစွာ လုပ်ဆောင်ရမည် ဖြစ်သည်။ …

In this time of well-nigh universal apostasy, God calls upon His messengers to proclaim His law in the spirit and power of Elias. As John the Baptist, in preparing a people for Christ’s first advent, called their attention to the Ten Commandments, so we are to give, with no uncertain sound, the message: “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.” With the earnestness that characterized Elijah the prophet and John the Baptist, we are to strive to prepare the way for Christ’s second advent (SW March 21, 1905).

တစ်လောကလုံး နီးပါး ဘာသာဖောက်ပြန်နေသော ဤအချိန်ကာလတွင်၊ ဘုရားသခင်သည် မိမိ၏ သံတမန်များအား ဧလိယ၏ ဝိညာဉ်နှင့် တန်ခိုးအားဖြင့် ကိုယ်တော်၏ ပညတ်တရားတော်ကို ကြေညာမောင်းခတ်ရန် ခေါ်ယူတော်မူသည်။ ဗတ္တိဇံယောဟန်သည် ခရစ်တော်၏ ပထမအကြိမ် ကြွလာခြင်းအတွက် လူမျိုးကို ပြင်ဆင်ပေးရာ၌၊ သူတို့၏ အာရုံကို ပညတ်တော် ဆယ်ပါးဆီသို့ လှည့်ကူစေခဲ့သကဲ့သို့၊ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည်လည်း မရေရာသော အသံမျိုးမဟုတ်ဘဲ၊ “ဘုရားသခင်ကို ကြောက်ရွံ့၍ ချီးမွမ်းကြလော့။ တရားစီရင်တော်မူသော အချိန်ရောက်လာပြီ” ဟူသော သတင်းစကားကို ပေးရကြမည်။ ပရောဖက်ဧလိယနှင့် ဗတ္တိဇံယောဟန်တို့၌ ထင်ရှားခဲ့သော ထက်သန်ခြင်း စိတ်ဆန္ဒအားဖြင့်၊ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ခရစ်တော်၏ ဒုတိယအကြိမ် ကြွလာခြင်းအတွက် လမ်းခရီးကို ပြင်ဆင်ပေးရန် ကြိုးပမ်းရကြမည် ဖြစ်သည် (SW မတ် ၂၁၊ ၁၉၀၅)။
