Chapter 10—The Voice of Stern Rebuke

ဤအခန်းသည် ၃ ဓမ္မရာဇဝင် ၁၇:၈-၂၄ နှင့် ၁၈:၁-၁၉ ကို အခြေခံထားသည်။

This chapter is based on 1 Kings 17:8-24; 18:1-19.

For a time Elijah remained hidden in the mountains by the brook
Cherith. There for many months he was miraculously provided
with food. Later on, when, because of the continued drought, the
brook became dry, God bade His servant fnd refuge in a heathen
land. “Arise,” He bade him, “get thee to Zarephath, [known in New
Testament times as Sarepta], which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell
there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain
thee.”

This woman was not an Israelite. She had never had the privileges and blessings that the chosen people of God had enjoyed; but
she was a believer in the true God and had walked in all the light that
was shining on her pathway. And now, when there was no safety for
Elijah in the land of Israel, God sent him to this woman to fnd an
asylum in her home.

“ထိုသို့ ဧလိယသည် ထ၍ ဇရတ္တမြို့သို့သွား၏။ [၁၃၀] မြို့တံခါးသို့ ရောက်သောအခါ၊ မုဆိုးမတစ်ဦးသည် ထင်းခွေလျက်ရှိသည်ကို မြင်လျှင်၊ ထိုမိန်းမကိုခေါ်၍ ‘ကျွန်ုပ်သောက်ဖို့ရန် ခွက်၌ ရေအနည်းငယ် ယူခဲ့ပါ’ ဟု ဆို၏။ ထိုမိန်းမသည် ရေယူသွားသောအခါ ဧလိယက ‘သင့်လက်၌ မုန့်တစ်လုပ်ကိုလည်း ယူခဲ့ပါ’ ဟု ထပ်၍ဆို၏။”

“So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the
[130] gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of
sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little
water in a vessel, that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch it,
he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread
in thine hand.”

ဆင်းရဲနွမ်းပါးလှသော ဤအိမ်ထောင်တွင် ငတ်မွတ်ခေါင်းပါးမှုဒဏ်ကို ပြင်းထန်စွာ ခံနေရပြီး သနားစဖွယ် နည်းပါးလှသော အစာသည်လည်း ကုန်ခါနီးဖြစ်နေပြီဖြစ်သည်။ အသက်ဆက်ရှင်ရန် ကြိုးစားမှုကို လက်လျှော့ရတော့မည်ဟု မုဆိုးမ စိုးရိမ်နေသည့် ထိုနေ့၌ပင် ဧလိယ ရောက်ရှိလာခြင်းသည်၊ သူမ၏ လိုအပ်ချက်များကို ဖြည့်ဆည်းပေးနိုင်သော အသက်ရှင်တော်မူသော ဘုရားသခင်၏ တန်ခိုးတော်အပေါ် သူမ၏ ယုံကြည်ခြင်းကို အဆုံးစွန်ထိ စမ်းသပ်ခြင်းပင် ဖြစ်သည်။ သို့သော် ထိုသို့သော အလွန်အမင်း ခက်ခဲနေသည့်ကြားမှပင် သူမသည် နောက်ဆုံးကျန်ရှိသော မုန့်တစ်လုပ်ကို မျှဝေပေးရန် တောင်းဆိုသည့် သူစိမ်း၏ တောင်းဆိုချက်ကို လိုက်လျောခြင်းဖြင့် သူမ၏ ယုံကြည်ခြင်းကို သက်သေထူခဲ့သည်။

In this poverty-stricken home the famine pressed sore, and the
pitifully meager fare seemed about to fail. The coming of Elijah
on the very day when the widow feared that she must give up the
struggle to sustain life tested to the utmost her faith in the power of
the living God to provide for her necessities. But even in her dire
extremity she bore witness to her faith by a compliance with the
request of the stranger who was asking her to share her last morsel
with him.

ဧလိယ၏ အစားအစာနှင့် ရေတောင်းဆိုမှုကို မုဆိုးမက “သင်၏ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား အသက်ရှင်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်း၊ ကျွန်မ၌ မုန့်ပြားမရှိပါ။ အိုးထဲ၌ မုန့်ညက်တစ်ဆုပ်နှင့် ဘူးထဲ၌ ဆီအနည်းငယ်သာ ရှိပါသည်။ ကျွန်မနှင့် ကျွန်မသား စားပြီးလျှင် သေရတော့မည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ထိုအစာကို ချက်ပြုတ်ရန် ထင်းနှစ်ချောင်းခွေနေခြင်း ဖြစ်ပါသည်” ဟု ပြန်ပြော၏။ ဧလိယကလည်း “မစိုးရိမ်နှင့်၊ သွား၍ ဆိုသည့်အတိုင်း ပြုလော့။ သို့သော်လည်း ရှေးဦးစွာ ကျွန်ုပ်အတွက် မုန့်ပြားငယ်တစ်ခုကို လုပ်၍ ယူခဲ့လော့။ ထိုနောက်မှ သင်နှင့် သင့်သားအတွက် လုပ်လော့။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် မြေကြီးပေါ်သို့ မိုးရွာစေတော်မူသောနေ့တိုင်အောင်၊ အိုး၌ရှိသော မုန့်ညက်သည် မကုန်၊ ဘူး၌ရှိသော ဆီသည်လည်း မပြတ်ရဟု ဣသရေလအမျိုး၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူပြီ” ဟု ဆို၏။

In response to Elijah’s request for food and drink, the widow
said, “As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful

of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am
gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my
son, that we may eat it, and die.” Elijah said to her, “Fear not; go
and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake frst, and
bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus
saith the Lord of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither
shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain
upon the earth.”

No greater test of faith than this could have been required. The
widow had hitherto treated all strangers with kindness and liberality.
Now, regardless of the suffering that might result to herself and child,
and trusting in the God of Israel to supply her every need, she met [131]
this supreme test of hospitality by doing “according to the saying of
Elijah.”

ဤဖိုနီးရှား အမျိုးသမီးသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ ပရောဖက်အပေါ် ပြသခဲ့သော ဧည့်ဝတ်ကျေပွန်မှုမှာ အံ့သြစရာကောင်းလှပြီး၊ သူမ၏ ယုံကြည်ခြင်းနှင့် ရက်ရောမှုမှာလည်း အံ့ဖွယ်ကောင်းလောက်အောင် ဆုကျေးဇူး ခံစားခဲ့ရသည်။ “ထိုမိန်းမနှင့် ဧလိယ၊ မိသားစုဝင်တို့သည် များစွာသောနေ့တို့၌ စားကြရ၏။ ဧလိယအားဖြင့် ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်း၊ အိုး၌ရှိသော မုန့်ညက်သည် မကုန်၊ ဘူး၌ရှိသော ဆီသည်လည်း မပြတ်ဘဲ ရှိ၏။”

Wonderful was the hospitality shown to God’s prophet by this
Phoenician woman, and wonderfully were her faith and generosity
rewarded. “She, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the
barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according
to the word of the Lord, which He spake by Elijah.

“ထိုနောက်မှ အိမ်ရှင်မဖြစ်သော ထိုမိန်းမ၏သားသည် နာဖျား၍၊ အသက်မထွက်သည်တိုင်အောင် ရောဂါသည် အလွန်ပြင်းထန်၏။ ထိုမိန်းမကလည်း ‘ဘုရားသခင်၏ လူ၊ ကျွန်မနှင့် အဘယ်သို့ဆိုင်သနည်း? ကျွန်မ၏ အပြစ်ကို သတိရစေခြင်းငှာလည်းကောင်း၊ ကျွန်မ၏သားကို သေစေခြင်းငှာလည်းကောင်း ကြွလာသလော’ ဟု ဧလိယအား ဆို၏။”

“And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman,
the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that
there was no breath left in him. And she said unto Elijah, What have
I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call
my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

“ဧလိယကလည်း ‘သင့်သားကို ပေးလော့’ ဟု ဆို၍၊ မိခင်၏ရင်ခွင်ထဲမှ ယူဆောင်ကာ မိမိတည်းခိုသော အထက်ခန်းသို့ ချီသွား၍ မိမိခုတင်ပေါ်၌ သိပ်ထား၏။... ထိုကလေးအပေါ်၌ သုံးကြိမ်တိုင်တိုင် ကိုယ်ကိုဆန့်၍ ထာဝရဘုရားအား အော်ဟစ်ဆုတောင်းလေ၏။... ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဧလိယ၏ စကားကို နားညောင်းတော်မူသဖြင့်၊ သူငယ်၏ အသက်ဝိညာဉ်သည် ပြန်လာ၍ သူငယ်သည် အသက်ရှင်ပြန်လေ၏။”

“And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out
of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and
laid him upon his own bed.... And he stretched himself upon the
child three times, and cried unto the Lord.... And the Lord heard the
voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and
he revived.

“ဧလိယသည် သူငယ်ကို ချီယူ၍ အထက်ခန်းမှ အောက်ထပ်သို့ ဆင်းလာပြီးလျှင် မိခင်အား ပေး၍ ‘ကြည့်လော့၊ သင့်သား အသက်ရှင်ပြီ’ ဟု ဆို၏။ ထိုမိန်းမကလည်း ‘ယခုတွင် ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ လူဖြစ်ကြောင်းကိုလည်းကောင်း၊ ကိုယ်တော်မြွက်ဆိုသော ထာဝရဘုရား၏ နှုတ်ကပတ်တော်သည် သမ္မာတရား ဖြစ်ကြောင်းကိုလည်းကောင်း ကျွန်မသိပါပြီ’ ဟု ဧလိယအား ဆို၏။”

“And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the
chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and
Elijah said, See, thy son liveth. And the woman said to Elijah, Now
by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the
Lord in thy mouth is truth.”

ဇရတ္တမြို့မှ မုဆိုးမသည် သူမ၏ မုန့်တစ်လုပ်ကို ဧလိယနှင့် မျှဝေခဲ့ပြီး၊ အပြန်အလှန်အားဖြင့် သူမနှင့် သူမ၏သား အသက်ဘေးမှ ချမ်းသာရာရခဲ့သည်။ စမ်းသပ်မှုနှင့် လိုအပ်မှုများ ကြုံတွေ့နေရသည့် အချိန်၌ပင်၊ မိမိထက် ပို၍ နွမ်းပါးသူတို့အပေါ် [၁၃၂] စာနာမှုနှင့် အကူအညီ ပေးကမ်းသူတိုင်းကို ဘုရားသခင်သည် ကြီးမားသော ကောင်းချီးပေးမည်ဟု ကတိပြုထားသည်။ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ပြောင်းလဲခြင်းမရှိပါ။ ကိုယ်တော်၏ တန်ခိုးသည် ဧလိယခေတ်ကထက် ယခုအခါ လျော့နည်းမသွားပါ။ “ပရောဖက်၏ နာမ၌ ပရောဖက်ကို လက်ခံသောသူသည် ပရောဖက်၏ အကျိုးကို ရလိမ့်မည်” (မဿဲ ၁၀:၄၁) ဟူသော ငါတို့၏ ကယ်တင်ရှင် မိန့်ကြားခဲ့သည့် ကတိတော်သည် ယခုအခါ၌လည်း အမှန်တကယ် တည်ရှိနေဆဲဖြစ်သည်။

The widow of Zarephath shared her morsel with Elijah, and in
return her life and that of her son were preserved. And to all who, in
time of trial and want, give sympathy and assistance to others more [132]

needy, God has promised great blessing. He has not changed. His
power is no less now than in the days of Elijah. No less sure now
than when spoken by our Saviour is the promise, “He that receiveth
a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward.”
Matthew 10:41.

“ဧည့်သည်ဝတ်ကို ပြုခြင်းငှာ မမေ့လျော့ကြနှင့်။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ အချို့သောသူတို့သည် ဧည့်သည်ဝတ်ကို ပြုသည်တွင်၊ မိမိတို့မသိဘဲ ကောင်းကင်တမန်တို့ကို ဧည့်ခံမိကြပြီ။” (ဟေဗြဲ ၁၃:၂)။ ဤစကားများသည် အချိန်ကာလများ ကုန်လွန်သွားသော်လည်း အရှိန်အဝါ လျော့ပါးမသွားပါ။ ငါတို့၏ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံရှင် အဖသည် ကိုယ်တော်၏ သားသမီးများ၏ လမ်းခရီးတွင် ပုံစံတစ်မျိုးဖြင့် ရောက်ရှိလာတတ်သော ကောင်းချီးအခွင့်အလမ်းများကို ဆက်လက်ထားရှိပေးနေဆဲဖြစ်သည်။ ထိုအခွင့်အလမ်းများကို အသုံးချသူတို့သည် ကြီးစွာသော ဝမ်းမြောက်ခြင်းကို ခံစားရမည်။ “ငတ်မွတ်သောသူအား သနားသောစိတ်နှင့် ကိုယ်အစာကို ပေး၍၊ ဆင်းရဲသောသူကို ရောင့်ရဲစေလျှင်၊ မှောင်မိုက်၌ သင်၏အလင်းသည် ပေါ်ထွန်း၍၊ သင်၏ မိုက်သောအချိန်သည် မွန်းတည့်အချိန်ကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင့်ကို အစဉ်လမ်းပြ၍၊ မိုးခေါင်သောအခါ၌ပင် သင်၏စိတ်နှလုံးကို ရောင့်ရဲစေတော်မူမည်။... သင်သည် ရေလောင်းသော ဥယျာဉ်ကဲ့သို့လည်းကောင်း၊ ရေမပြတ်နိုင်သော စမ်းရေတွင်းကဲ့သို့လည်းကောင်း ဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။” (ဟေရှာယ ၅၈:၁၀၊ ၁၁)။

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have
entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:2. These words have lost
none of their force through the lapse of time. Our heavenly Father
still continues to place in the pathway of His children opportunities
that are blessings in disguise; and those who improve these opportunities fnd great joy. “If thou draw out thy soul to the hungry,
and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity,
and thy darkness be as the noonday: and the Lord shall guide thee
continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones:
and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water,
whose waters fail not.” Isaiah 58:10, 11.

ယနေ့ခေတ် ကိုယ်တော်၏ သစ္စာရှိသော အစေခံများအား ခရစ်တော်က မိန့်တော်မူသည်မှာ “သင်တို့ကို လက်ခံသောသူသည် ငါ့ကို လက်ခံ၏။ ငါ့ကို လက်ခံသောသူသည် ငါ့ကို စေလွှတ်တော်မူသော အရှင်ကို လက်ခံ၏” ဟူ၍ ဖြစ်သည်။ ကိုယ်တော်၏ နာမ၌ ပြုသမျှသော ကြင်နာမှုတိုင်းသည် အသိအမှတ်ပြုခြင်းနှင့် ဆုကျေးဇူး ခံစားရခြင်းမှ လွတ်ကင်းလိမ့်မည် မဟုတ်ပါ။ ထို့ပြင် ခရစ်တော်သည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ မိသားစုတွင် အားနည်းဆုံးနှင့် အနိမ့်ကျဆုံးသော သူများကိုပင် ထိုကဲ့သို့သော နူးညံ့သိမ်မွေ့စွာ အသိအမှတ်ပြုခြင်းထဲတွင် ထည့်သွင်းထားသည်။ “တပည့်တော်၏ နာမ၌ ဤသူငယ်တို့တွင် တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်အား ရေအေးတစ်ခွက်မျှကိုသာ ပေးသောသူသည်၊ အမှန်အကန် ငါဆိုသည်ကား၊ မိမိအကျိုးကို မဆုံးရှုံးစေရ။” (မဿဲ ၁၀:၄၀၊ ၄၂)။

To His faithful servants today Christ says, “He that receiveth you
receiveth Me, and he that receiveth Me receiveth Him that sent Me.”
No act of kindness shown in His name will fail to be recognized and
rewarded. And in the same tender recognition Christ includes even
the feeblest and lowliest of the family of God. “Whosoever shall
give to drink,” He says, “unto one of these little ones”—those who
are as children in their faith and their knowledge of Christ—“a cup
of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you,
he shall in no wise lose his reward.” Matthew 10:40, 42.

[၁၃၃] မိုးခေါင်ခြင်းနှင့် ငတ်မွတ်ခေါင်းပါးခြင်း နှစ်ရှည်လများအတွင်း၊ ဧလိယသည် ဣသရေလတို့၏ စိတ်နှလုံးများ ရုပ်တုကိုးကွယ်ခြင်းမှ ဘုရားသခင်ထံသို့ ပြန်လည်ရောက်ရှိလာစေရန် အားတက်သရော ဆုတောင်းခဲ့သည်။ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ လက်တော်သည် ဒုက္ခရောက်နေသော ပြည်ပေါ်တွင် ပြင်းထန်စွာ တည်ရှိနေစဉ်၊ ပရောဖက်သည် စိတ်ရှည်စွာ စောင့်ဆိုင်းနေခဲ့သည်။ အရပ်ရပ်တွင် ဆင်းရဲဒုက္ခနှင့် လိုအပ်ချက်များ တိုးပွားလာသည်ကို မြင်သောအခါ၊ သူ၏ စိတ်နှလုံးသည် ဝမ်းနည်းပူဆွေးမှုဖြင့် ခံစားခဲ့ရပြီး ပြုပြင်ပြောင်းလဲမှု အမြန်ဆုံး ဖြစ်ပေါ်လာစေရန် တောင့်တခဲ့သည်။ သို့သော် ဘုရားသခင်ကိုယ်တိုင်က ကိုယ်တော်၏ အစီအစဉ်ကို အကောင်အထည်ဖော်နေခြင်းဖြစ်ရာ၊ ကိုယ်တော်၏ အစေခံ ပြုနိုင်သမျှမှာ ယုံကြည်ခြင်းဖြင့် ဆက်လက်ဆုတောင်းရန်နှင့် ပြတ်သားသော လုပ်ဆောင်မှုအတွက် အချိန်ကာလကို စောင့်ဆိုင်းရန်သာ ဖြစ်သည်။

[133] Through the long years of drought and famine, Elijah prayed
earnestly that the hearts of Israel might be turned from idolatry to
allegiance to God. Patiently the prophet waited, while the hand of
the Lord rested heavily on the stricken land. As he saw evidences of
suffering and want multiplying on every side, his heart was wrung
with sorrow, and he longed for power to bring about a reformation
quickly. But God Himself was working out His plan, and all that
His servant could do was to pray on in faith and await the time for
decided action.

အာဟပ်မင်းခေတ်တွင် လွှမ်းမိုးခဲ့သော ဘုရားမဲ့ခြင်း (apostasy) သည် နှစ်ပေါင်းများစွာ မကောင်းမှုပြုခဲ့ခြင်း၏ ရလဒ်ဖြစ်သည်။ တစ်လှမ်းချင်း၊ တစ်နှစ်ပြီးတစ်နှစ် ဣသရေလတို့သည် မှန်ကန်သောလမ်းမှ သွေဖည်သွားခဲ့ကြသည်။ မျိုးဆက်တစ်ခုပြီးတစ်ခု သူတို့သည် ဖြောင့်မတ်သောလမ်းသို့ လျှောက်လှမ်းရန် ငြင်းဆန်ခဲ့ကြပြီး၊ နောက်ဆုံးတွင် လူအများစုသည် မှောင်မိုက်တန်ခိုးရှင်တို့၏ ဦးဆောင်မှုအောက်သို့ ရောက်ရှိသွားခဲ့ကြသည်။

The apostasy prevailing in Ahab’s day was the result of many
years of evil-doing. Step by step, year after year, Israel had been
departing from the right way. For generation after generation they
had refused to make straight paths for their feet, and at last the great

majority of the people had yielded themselves to the leadership of
the powers of darkness.

ဒါဝိဒ်မင်းကြီး အုပ်စိုးစဉ်ကာလက၊ ဣသရေလတို့သည် နေ့စဉ်မစမှုများအတွက် အမြင့်ဆုံးသော ဘုရားသခင်အပေါ် လုံးလုံးလျားလျား ကိုးစားကြောင်း အသိအမှတ်ပြုလျက် ချီးမွမ်းခြင်းသီချင်းများကို ဝမ်းမြောက်စွာ သီဆိုခဲ့ကြသည်မှာ နှစ်ပေါင်း ၁၀၀ ခန့်သာ ရှိသေးသည်။ ထိုစဉ်က သူတို့သီဆိုခဲ့သော ကိုးကွယ်ဆည်းကပ်မှု စကားများကို နားထောင်ကြည့်ပါ–

About a century had passed since, under the rulership of King
David, Israel had joyfully united in chanting hymns of praise to the
Most High, in recognition of their entire dependence on Him for
daily mercies. Listen to their words of adoration as then they sang:

“O God of our salvation, ...
Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to
rejoice.
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it:
Thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full
of water:
Thou preparest them corn, when Thou hast so provided for it.
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: Thou caus- [134]
est rain
to descend into the furrows thereof:
Thou makest it soft with showers: Thou blessest the
springing
thereof.
Thou crownest the year with Thy goodness;
And Thy paths drop fatness.
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness:
And the little hills rejoice on every side.
The pastures are clothed with flocks;
The valleys also are covered over with corn;
They shout for joy, they also sing.”

ဣသရေလတို့သည် ထိုစဉ်က ဘုရားသခင်ကို “မြေကြီးတိုက်မြစ်ကို ချတော်မူသော အရှင်” အဖြစ် အသိအမှတ်ပြုခဲ့ကြသည်။ သူတို့၏ ယုံကြည်ခြင်းကို ဖော်ပြရာတွင် ဤသို့ သီဆိုခဲ့ကြသည်–

Israel had then recognized God as the One who “laid the foundations of the earth.” In expression of their faith they had
sung:

“အဝတ်နှင့် ဖုံးလွှမ်းသကဲ့သို့ နက်နဲသော ပင်လယ်နှင့် မြေကြီးကို ဖုံးလွှမ်းတော်မူ၏။ ရေသည် တောင်များအထက်မှာ တည်နေ၏။ ကိုယ်တော် မောင်းမဲတော်မူသောကြောင့် ပြေးကြ၏။ ကိုယ်တော်၏ မိုးကြိုးသံကြောင့် အလျှင်အမြန် သွားကြ၏။ တောင်များပေါ်သို့တက်၍၊ ချိုင့်ဝှမ်းများသို့ ဆင်းသွားကြ၏။ ကိုယ်တော် ပြင်ဆင်တော်မူသော အရပ်သို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။ မြေကြီးကို တစ်ဖန်ဖုံးလွှမ်းခြင်းငှာ မကျော်နိုင်သော ဘောင်ကို သတ်မှတ်တော်မူ၏။” ဆာလံ ၁၀၄:၅-၉။

မြေကြီး၊ ပင်လယ်နှင့် ကောင်းကင်တို့ရှိ သဘာဝတရားများကို ဘောင်အတွင်း၌ ထိန်းသိမ်းထားသည်မှာ အနန္တတန်ခိုးရှင်၏ ကြီးမားသော တန်ခိုးတော်ကြောင့် ဖြစ်သည်။

At the voice of Thy thunder they hasted away.
They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys
Unto the place which Thou hast founded for them.

ထိုသဘာဝတရားများကို ကိုယ်တော်သည် မိမိ၏ သတ္တဝါများ ပျော်ရွှင်စေရန် အသုံးပြုတော်မူ၏။ “မိုးရွာစေခြင်းငှာလည်းကောင်း၊ လူတို့လက်ဖြင့် ပြုသမျှသောအမှုတို့ကို ကောင်းချီးပေးခြင်းငှာလည်းကောင်း” ကိုယ်တော်၏ “ကောင်းမြတ်သော ဘဏ္ဍာတော်” ကို အခမဲ့ ပေးသနားတော်မူ၏။ (တရားဟောရာ ၂၈:၁၂)။

Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over;
That they turn not again to cover the earth.”
Psalm 104:5-9.

“ကိုယ်တော်သည် စမ်းရေတို့ကို ချိုင့်ဝှမ်းထဲသို့ လွှတ်တော်မူ၍၊ တောင်ကြားတို့၌ စီးစေတော်မူ၏။ ထိုရေသည် တောသားရဲအပေါင်းတို့အား သောက်စရာဖြစ်၏။ တောမြည်းတို့သည်လည်း မိမိတို့ငတ်မွတ်ခြင်းကို ပြေစေကြ၏။ ထိုစမ်းရေနား၌ မိုးကောင်းကင်ငှက်တို့သည် နေရာချ၍၊ သစ်ကိုင်းတို့အကြားမှာ သီချင်းဆိုကြ၏။... It is by the mighty power of the Infnite One that the elements of
nature in earth and sea and sky are kept within bounds.
And these elements He uses for the happiness of His
creatures. “His good treasure” is freely expended “to
give the rain ... in his season, and to bless all the work”
of man’s hands. Deuteronomy 28:12.

“He sendeth the springs into the valleys,
Which run among the hills.
They give drink to every beast of the feld:

By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation,
Which sing among the branches....
[135] He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle,
And herb for the service of man:
That He may bring forth food out of the earth;
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man,
And oil to make his face to shine,
And bread which strengtheneth man’s heart....
“O Lord, how manifold are Thy works!
In wisdom has Thou made them all:
The earth is full of Thy riches.
So is this great and wide sea,
Wherein are things creeping innumerable,

Both small and great beasts....
These wait all upon Thee;
That Thou mayest give them their meat in due
season.
That Thou givest them they gather:
“Thou openest Thine hand,
They are flled with good.”

Israel had had abundant occasion for rejoicing. The land
to which the Lord had brought them was a land
flowing with milk and honey. During the wilderness wandering, God had assured them that He
was guiding them to a country where they need
never suffer for lack of rain. “The land, whither
thou goest in to possess it,” He had told them, “is
not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came
out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst
it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs: but the land,
whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and
valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
a land which the Lord thy God careth for: the
eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from
the beginning of the year even unto the end of the
year.”

မိုးကြွယ်ဝစွာ ရွာသွန်းမည်ဟူသော ကတိတော်ကို နာခံမှုအပေါ် အခြေခံ၍ ပေးထားခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။ [၁၃၆] “သင်တို့၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားကို ချစ်၍၊ စိတ်နှလုံးအကြွင်းမဲ့ အစေခံမည်အကြောင်း၊ ယနေ့ ငါမှာထားသော ပညတ်တော်တို့ကို သင်တို့သည် စေ့စေ့နားထောင်လျှင်၊ သင်တို့သည် ဆန်စပါး၊ စပျစ်ရည်၊ ဆီတို့ကို သိမ်းယူစေခြင်းငှာ၊ သင်တို့ပြည်၌ အချိန်တန်လျှင် မိုးဦးမိုးနှောင်းကို ငါရွာစေမည်။ သင်တို့၏ တိရစ္ဆာန်များအတွက် လယ်ပြင်၌ မြက်ပင်ကို ပေါက်စေမည်။ သင်တို့သည် ဝစွာ စားရကြမည်” ဟု ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူခဲ့သည်။

The promise of abundance of rain had been given on
condition of obedience. “It shall come to pass,” [136]
the Lord had declared, “if ye shall hearken diligently unto My commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God,
and to serve Him with all your heart and with all
your soul, that I will give you the rain of your
land in his due season, the frst rain and the latter
rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy
wine, and thine oil. And I will send grass in thy

felds for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be
full.

ထာဝရဘုရားသည် မိမိ၏ လူမျိုးကို ဤသို့ သတိပေးခဲ့သည်– “သင်တို့သည် စိတ်မလှည့်စားခြင်းငှာလည်းကောင်း၊ လမ်းလွဲ၍ အခြားသော ဘုရားတို့ကို ဝတ်ပြုကိုးကွယ်ခြင်းငှာလည်းကောင်း သတိပြုကြလော့။ သို့မဟုတ်လျှင် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် အမျက်တော်ထွက်၍၊ မိုးမရွာစေခြင်းငှာ မိုးကောင်းကင်ကို ပိတ်တော်မူသဖြင့်၊ မြေကြီးသည် မိမိအသီးအနှံကို မပေးဘဲရှိ၍၊ ထာဝရဘုရား ပေးသနားတော်မူသော ကောင်းသောပြည်မှ သင်တို့သည် အလျင်အမြန် ပျက်စီးခြင်းသို့ ရောက်ကြလိမ့်မည်။” (တရားဟောရာ ၁၁:၁၀-၁၇)။

“Take heed to yourselves,” the Lord had admonished
His people, “that your heart be not deceived, and
ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; and then the Lord’s wrath be kindled
against you, and He shut up the heaven, that there
be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit;
and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land
which the Lord giveth you.” Deuteronomy 11:10-
17.

ဣသရေလတို့အား ဤသို့လည်း သတိပေးထားသည်– “သင်၏ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား၏ စကားတော်ကို နားမထောင်၊ ယနေ့ ငါမှာထားသော ပညတ်တရား၊ စီရင်ထုံးဖွဲ့ချက် အလုံးစုံတို့ကို စောင့်ရှောက်ခြင်းငှာ သတိမပြုလျှင်၊ ... သင်၏ခေါင်းအထက်၌ရှိသော မိုးကောင်းကင်သည် ကြေးဝါဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။ သင်၏ခြေအောက်၌ရှိသော မြေကြီးသည် သံဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင်တို့ပြည်၌ မိုးရေကို ဖုန်နှင့်မြေမှုန့် ဖြစ်စေတော်မူသဖြင့်၊ သင်သည် ပျက်စီးခြင်းသို့ မရောက်မချင်း မိုးကောင်းကင်က ကျဆင်းလာလိမ့်မည်။” (တရားဟောရာ ၂၈:၁၅၊ ၂၃၊ ၂၄)။

“If thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy
God, to observe to do all His commandments and
His statutes,” the Israelites had been warned, “thy
heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and
the earth that is under thee shall be iron. The Lord
shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust:
from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until
thou be destroyed.” Deuteronomy 28:15, 23, 24.

These were among the wise counsels of Jehovah to ancient Israel. “Lay up these My words in your
heart and in your soul,” He had commanded His
chosen people, “and bind them for a sign upon
your hand, that they may be as frontlets between
your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children,
speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house,
[137] and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” Deuteronomy
11:18, 19. Plain were these commands, yet as the
centuries passed, and generation after generation
lost sight of the provision made for their spiritual welfare, the ruinous influences of apostasy
threatened to sweep aside every barrier of divine
grace.

Thus it had come to pass that God was now visiting His
people with the severest of His judgments. The
prediction of Elijah was meeting with terrible fulfllment. For three years the messenger of woe
was sought for in city after city and nation after
nation. At the mandate of Ahab, many rulers
had given their oath of honor that the strange
prophet could not be found in their dominions.
Yet the search was continued, for Jezebel and the
prophets of Baal hated Elijah with a deadly hatred, and they spared no effort to bring him within
reach of their power. And still there was no rain.

နောက်ဆုံးတွင် “များစွာသောနေ့တို့ လွန်ပြီးမှ” ထာဝရဘုရား၏ နှုတ်ကပတ်တော်သည် ဧလိယထံသို့ ရောက်လာ၍၊ “သွားလော့၊ အာဟပ်မင်းထံ၌ ကိုယ်ကိုပြလော့။ ငါသည် မြေကြီးပေါ်သို့ မိုးရွာစေမည်” ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

At last, “after many days,” the word of the Lord came to
Elijah, “Go, show thyself unto Ahab; and I will
send rain upon the earth.”

In obedience to the command, “Elijah went to show himself unto Ahab.” About the time that the prophet
set forth on his journey to Samaria, Ahab had proposed to Obadiah, the governor of his household,
that they make thorough search for springs and
brooks of water, in the hope of fnding pasture for
their starving flocks and herds. Even in the royal
court the effect of the long-continued drought was
keenly felt. The king, deeply concerned over the
outlook for his household, decided to unite personally with his servant in a search for some favored spots where pasture might be had. “So they [138]
divided the land between them to pass throughout
it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah
went another way by himself.”

“သြဗဒိသည် လမ်း၌ သွားစဉ်၊ ဧလိယနှင့် တွေ့လျှင် သူ့ကိုသိ၍ ပြပ်ဝပ်ကိုးကွယ်လျက် ‘အကျွန်ုပ်သခင် ဧလိယ၊ ကိုယ်တော်ပင် ဖြစ်ပါသလော’ ဟု မေး၏။”

“As Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and

ဣသရေလတို့ ဘုရားမဲ့နေသည့် ကာလအတွင်း၊ သြဗဒိသည် သစ္စာရှိစွာ တည်ရှိနေခဲ့သည်။ သူ၏အရှင် ရှင်ဘုရင်ပင်လျှင် သူ့ကို အသက်ရှင်တော်မူသော ဘုရားသခင်အပေါ် သစ္စာစောင့်သိခြင်းမှ လွဲဖယ်သွားအောင် မလုပ်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါ။ ယခုအခါ သူသည် ဧလိယ၏ တာဝန်ပေးချက်ကို ရရှိခဲ့ပြီး၊ ဧလိယက “သွားလော့၊ သင်၏အရှင်အား ‘ဧလိယ ရောက်နေပြီ’ ဟု ပြောလော့” ဟု ဆို၏။

During the apostasy of Israel, Obadiah had remained
faithful. His master, the king, had been unable
to turn him from his allegiance to the living God.

Now he was honored with a commission from
Elijah, who said, “Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah
is here.”
Greatly terrifed, Obadiah exclaimed, “What have I
sinned, that thou wouldest deliver thy servant into
the hand of Ahab, to slay me?” To take such a
message as this to Ahab was to court certain death.
“As the Lord thy God liveth,” he explained to the
prophet, “there is no nation or kingdom, whither
my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they
said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not. And
now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah
is here. And it shall come to pass, as soon as I
am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the Lord
shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when
I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot fnd thee, he
shall slay me.”

Earnestly Obadiah pleaded with the prophet not to urge
him. “I thy servant,” he urged, “fear the Lord
from my youth. Was it not told my lord what I
did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the Lord,
how I hid an hundred men of the Lord’s prophets
[139] by ffty in a cave, and fed them with bread and
water? And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord,
Behold, Elijah is here: and he shall slay me.”

With a solemn oath Elijah promised Obadiah that the
errand should not be in vain. “As the Lord of
hosts liveth, before whom I stand,” he declared,
“I will surely show myself unto him today.” Thus
assured, “Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told
him.”

In astonishment mingled with terror the king listened to
the message from the man whom he feared and
hated, and for whom he had sought so untiringly.
Well he knew that Elijah would not endanger his
life merely for the sake of meeting him. Could
it be possible that the prophet was about to utter
another woe against Israel? The king’s heart was
seized with dread. He remembered the withered
arm of Jeroboam. Ahab could not avoid obeying
the summons, neither dared he lift up his hand
against the messenger of God. And so, accompanied by a bodyguard of soldiers, the trembling
monarch went to meet the prophet.

The king and the prophet stand face to face. Though
Ahab is flled with passionate hatred, yet in the
presence of Elijah he seems unmanned, powerless. In his frst faltering words, “Art thou he that
troubleth Israel?” he unconsciously reveals the inmost feelings of his heart. Ahab knew that it was
by the word of God that the heavens had become
as brass, yet he sought to cast upon the prophet
the blame for the heavy judgments resting on the
land.

It is natural for the wrongdoer to hold the messengers
of God responsible for the calamities that come
as the sure result of a departure from the way
of righteousness. Those who place themselves in [140]
Satan’s power are unable to see things as God sees
them. When the mirror of truth is held up before
them, they become indignant at the thought of
receiving reproof. Blinded by sin, they refuse to
repent; they feel that God’s servants have turned
against them and are worthy of severest censure.

Standing in conscious innocence before Ahab, Elijah
makes no attempt to excuse himself or to flatter

the king. Nor does he seek to evade the king’s
wrath by the good news that the drought is almost
over. He has no apology to offer. Indignant, and
jealous for the honor of God, he casts back the imputation of Ahab, fearlessly declaring to the king
that it is his sins, and the sins of his fathers, that
have brought upon Israel this terrible calamity. “I
have not troubled Israel,” Elijah boldly asserts,
“but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have
forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and
thou hast followed Baalim.”

Today there is need of the voice of stern rebuke; for
grievous sins have separated the people from God.
Infdelity is fast becoming fashionable. “We will
not have this man to reign over us,” is the language of thousands. Luke 19:14. The smooth sermons so often preached make no lasting impression; the trumpet does not give a certain sound.
Men are not cut to the heart by the plain, sharp
truths of God’s word.

ခရစ်ယာန်ဟု အမည်ခံထားသူ အများအပြားသည် သူတို့၏ စိတ်ရင်းအတိုင်း ပြောရမည်ဆိုလျှင် “ဒီလောက် ရှင်းရှင်းလင်းလင်း ပြောဖို့ လိုလို့လား?” ဟု မေးကြပါလိမ့်မည်။ ဗတ္တိဇံဆရာ ယောဟန်က ဖာရိရှဲတို့အား “အချင်း မြွေဆိုးအမျိုးတို့၊ ရောက်လတ္တံ့သော အမျက်တော်မှ ပြေးစေခြင်းငှာ အဘယ်သူ သတိပေးသနည်း?” (လုကာ ၃:၇) [၁၄၁] ဟု အဘယ်ကြောင့် ပြောရန် လိုအပ်သနည်းဟု သူတို့ မေးကောင်းမေးနိုင်ပါသည်။ ဟေရုဒ်သည် သူ၏ညီ၏ဇနီးနှင့် နေထိုင်ခြင်းမှာ ပညတ်တော်နှင့် မညီကြောင်း ပြောသဖြင့် ဟေရောဒိ၏ အမျက်ဒေါသကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် ဆွပေးခဲ့သနည်း? ခရစ်တော်၏ ရှေ့တော်ပြေးသည် သူ၏ ပွင့်လင်းစွာ ပြောဆိုမှုကြောင့် အသက်ဆုံးရှုံးခဲ့ရသည်။ အပြစ်ထဲတွင် နေထိုင်သူတို့၏ မကျေနပ်မှုကို မခံရဘဲ သူသည် အေးဆေးစွာ မနေနိုင်ခဲ့ဘူးလား?

There are many professed Christians who, if they should
express their real feelings, would say, What need
is there of speaking so plainly? They might as
well ask, Why need John the Baptist have said
to the Pharisees, “O generation of vipers, who
[141] hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”
Luke 3:7. Why need he have provoked the anger
of Herodias by telling Herod that it was unlawful
for him to live with his brother’s wife? The forerunner of Christ lost his life by his plain speaking.

ထိုနည်းတူစွာ ဘုရားသခင်၏ ပညတ်တော်ကို သစ္စာရှိစွာ စောင့်ရှောက်ရမည့် အစောင့်အရှောက်များဖြစ်ရမည့်သူတို့သည်၊ မူဝါဒက သစ္စာရှိမှုနေရာတွင် အစားထိုးဝင်ရောက်လာသည်အထိ ဆင်ခြေပေးခဲ့ကြပြီး၊ အပြစ်ကို ပြစ်တင်ခြင်းမပြုဘဲ ထားရှိခဲ့ကြသည်။ အသင်းတော်တွင် သစ္စာရှိသော ပြစ်တင်မောင်းမဲသံကို မည်သည့်အချိန်တွင် တစ်ဖန် ကြားရဦးမည်နည်း?

Why could he not have moved along without incurring the displeasure of those who were living
in sin?
So men who should be standing as faithful guardians
of God’s law have argued, till policy has taken

the place of faithfulness, and sin is allowed to
go unreproved. When will the voice of faithful
rebuke be heard once more in the church?

“သင်သည် ထိုသူဖြစ်၏။” (၂ ဓမ္မရာဇဝင် ၁၂:၇)။ နာသန်က ဒါဝိဒ်အား ပြောခဲ့သကဲ့သို့ ထင်ရှားပြတ်သားသော စကားမျိုးကို ယနေ့ခေတ် တရားဟောစင်မြင့်များတွင် ကြားရခဲသလို၊ သတင်းမီဒီယာများတွင်လည်း တွေ့ရခဲလှသည်။ ထိုသို့သော စကားများသာ မရှားပါးခဲ့လျှင်၊ လူတို့အကြားတွင် ဘုရားသခင်၏ တန်ခိုးတော် ထင်ရှားလာသည်ကို ပို၍ တွေ့မြင်ရပါလိမ့်မည်။ ဘုရားသခင်၏ စေတမန်များသည် မိမိတို့၏ အသိအမှတ်ပြု ခံလိုစိတ်နှင့် လူတို့အား နှစ်သက်စေလိုသော စိတ်တို့ကို နောင်တမရမချင်း၊ မိမိတို့၏ ကြိုးစားအားထုတ်မှုများမှာ အချည်းနှီး ဖြစ်နေရသည်ဟု မညည်းတွားသင့်ပါ။ ထိုစိတ်များကပင် သမ္မာတရားကို ဖုံးကွယ်ထားစေခြင်း ဖြစ်သည်။

“Thou art the man.” 2 Samuel 12:7. Words as unmistakably plain as these spoken by Nathan to David
are seldom heard in the pulpits of today, seldom
seen in the public press. If they were not so rare,
we should see more of the power of God revealed
among men. The Lord’s messengers should not
complain that their efforts are without fruit until
they repent of their own love of approbation and
their desire to please men, which leads them to
suppress truth.

ဘုရားသခင်က ငြိမ်သက်ခြင်း မရှိဟု မိန့်တော်မူပါလျက်၊ လူတို့ကို နှစ်သက်စေရန်အတွက် “ငြိမ်သက်ပြီ၊ ငြိမ်သက်ပြီ” ဟု အော်ဟစ်နေကြသော ဓမ္မဆရာများသည်၊ သူတို့၏ မရိုးသားမှုနှင့် ကိုယ်ကျင့်တရားဆိုင်ရာ သတ္တိကင်းမဲ့မှုတို့အတွက် ဘုရားသခင်ရှေ့တွင် နှိမ့်ချလျက် ခွင့်လွှတ်မှု တောင်းခံသင့်သည်။ သူတို့သည် မိမိတို့ထံ အပ်နှံထားသော သတင်းစကားကို ချောမွေ့အောင် ပြုလုပ်ခြင်းမှာ အိမ်နီးချင်းကို ချစ်သောကြောင့် မဟုတ်ဘဲ၊ မိမိကိုယ်ကို အလိုလိုက်ခြင်းနှင့် သက်သောင့်သက်သာ နေလိုခြင်းကြောင့်သာ ဖြစ်သည်။ စစ်မှန်သော မေတ္တာသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ ဂုဏ်တော်နှင့် ဝိညာဉ်များ ကယ်တင်ခြင်းကို ရှေးဦးစွာ ရှာဖွေသည်။ ထိုမေတ္တာရှိသူတို့သည် ပွင့်လင်းစွာ ပြောဆိုခြင်းကြောင့် ဖြစ်ပေါ်လာမည့် မနှစ်မြို့ဖွယ် ရလဒ်များမှ ကင်းဝေးစေရန် သမ္မာတရားကို ရှောင်လွှဲလိမ့်မည် မဟုတ်ပါ။ ဝိညာဉ်များ ဘေးအန္တရာယ် ကြုံနေရချိန်တွင် ဘုရားသခင်၏ ဓမ္မဆရာများသည် မိမိကိုယ်ကို ထည့်တွက်မည် မဟုတ်ဘဲ၊ [၁၄၂] ပေးအပ်ထားသော စကားကိုသာ ပြောဆိုကြမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး၊ မကောင်းမှုကို ဆင်ခြေပေးရန် သို့မဟုတ် လျှော့ပေါ့ပြောဆိုရန် ငြင်းဆန်ကြလိမ့်မည်။

Those ministers who are men pleasers, who cry, Peace,
peace, when God has not spoken peace, might
well humble their hearts before God, asking pardon for their insincerity and their lack of moral
courage. It is not from love for their neighbor that
they smooth down the message entrusted to them,
but because they are self-indulgent and ease-loving. True love seeks frst the honor of God and the
salvation of souls. Those who have this love will
not evade the truth to save themselves from the
unpleasant results of plain speaking. When souls
are in peril, God’s ministers will not consider self, [142]
but will speak the word given them to speak, refusing to excuse or palliate evil.

ဓမ္မဆရာတိုင်းသည် မိမိတို့၏ ရာထူး၏ မြင့်မြတ်မှုနှင့် မိမိတို့အလုပ်၏ သန့်ရှင်းမှုကို နားလည်သဘောပေါက်ပြီး၊ ဧလိယ ပြသခဲ့သော သတ္တိမျိုးကို ပြသနိုင်ကြပါစေ။ ဘုရားသခင် ခန့်အပ်ထားသော စေတမန်များအနေဖြင့် ဓမ္မဆရာများသည် ကြီးမားသော တာဝန်ရှိသည့် နေရာတွင် ရှိနေကြသည်။ သူတို့သည် “ဆုံးမခြင်း၊ အပြစ်တင်ခြင်း၊ အလွန်စိတ်ရှည်စွာ တိုက်တွန်းခြင်း” တို့ကို ပြုကြရမည်။ (၂ တိမောသေ ၄:၂)။ ခရစ်တော်၏ ကိုယ်စား၊ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၏ နက်နဲသော အရာများကို စောင့်ရှောက်သူများအဖြစ် နာခံသူတို့ကို အားပေးလျက်၊ မနာခံသူတို့ကို သတိပေးလျက် လုပ်ဆောင်ကြရမည်။ သူတို့အတွက် လောကီမူဝါဒသည် အရေးမပါစေရပါ။ ယေရှု လျှောက်လှမ်းရန် မှာကြားခဲ့သော လမ်းခရီးမှ ဘယ်သောအခါမျှ မသွေဖည်ကြရပါ။ မိမိတို့ကို သက်သေအပေါင်းတို့က ဝန်းရံနေသည်ကို သတိရလျက် ယုံကြည်ခြင်းဖြင့် ရှေ့သို့ လျှောက်လှမ်းကြရမည်။ သူတို့သည် မိမိတို့၏ စကားကို မပြောရဘဲ၊ လောကီအာဏာရှင်တို့ထက် ကြီးမြတ်သော အရှင်က မှာကြားခဲ့သော စကားကိုသာ ပြောကြရမည်။ သူတို့၏ သတင်းစကားမှာ “ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူသည်ကား” ဟူ၍ ဖြစ်ရမည်။

Would that every minister might realize the sacredness
of his offce and the holiness of his work, and
show the courage that Elijah showed! As divinely
appointed messengers, ministers are in a position
of awful responsibility. They are to “reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering.” 2 Timothy
4:2. In Christ’s stead they are to labor as stewards of the mysteries of heaven, encouraging the

obedient and warning the disobedient. With them
worldly policy is to have no weight. Never are
they to swerve from the path in which Jesus has
bidden them walk. They are to go forward in
faith, remembering that they are surrounded by
a cloud of witnesses. They are not to speak their
own words, but words which One greater than
the potentates of earth has bidden them speak.
Their message is to be, “Thus saith the Lord.”

ဘုရားသခင်သည် ဧလိယ၊ နာသန်နှင့် ဗတ္တိဇံဆရာ ယောဟန်တို့ကဲ့သို့သော လူမျိုးကို ခေါ်ယူနေပါသည်။ ထိုသူတို့သည် ရလဒ်ကို ပဓာနမထားဘဲ ဘုရားသခင်၏ သတင်းစကားကို သစ္စာရှိစွာ ဆောင်ယူကြမည့်သူများ၊ မိမိတို့ ပိုင်ဆိုင်သမျှကို စွန့်လွှတ်ရမည် ဖြစ်သော်လည်း သမ္မာတရားကို ရဲဝံ့စွာ ပြောဆိုကြမည့်သူများ ဖြစ်သည်။

God calls for men like Elijah, Nathan, and John
the Baptist—men who will bear His message with
faithfulness, regardless of the consequences; men
who will speak the truth bravely, though it call for
the sacrifce of all they have.

ဘေးအန္တရာယ် ကြုံနေရချိန်၊ လူတိုင်း၏ ခွန်အား၊ သတ္တိနှင့် လွှမ်းမိုးမှုများ လိုအပ်နေချိန်တွင်၊ မှန်ကန်သောအရာအတွက် ပြတ်သားစွာ ရပ်တည်ရန် ကြောက်ရွံ့နေသူတို့ကို ဘုရားသခင် အသုံးမပြုနိုင်ပါ။ ကိုယ်တော်သည် မကောင်းမှုများကို သစ္စာရှိစွာ တိုက်ခိုက်မည့်သူများ၊ မင်းစိုးရာဇာများနှင့် တန်ခိုးအာဏာရှင်များ၊ ဤလောက၏ မှောင်မိုက်အုပ်စိုးသူများ၊ မိုးကောင်းကင်၌ရှိသော နာမ်ဝိညာဉ်ဆိုးများ၏ အမှုကို ဆန့်ကျင်တိုက်ခိုက်မည့်သူများကို ခေါ်ယူနေပါသည်။ ထိုသို့သော သူများကိုသာ ကိုယ်တော်က “သာဓု၊ သစ္စာရှိသော အစေခံကောင်း၊ ... သင်၏အရှင်၏ ဝမ်းမြောက်ခြင်းသို့ ဝင်လော့” ဟူသော စကားကို မိန့်တော်မူမည် ဖြစ်သည်။ (မဿဲ ၂၅:၂၃)။

God cannot use men who, in time of peril, when the
strength, courage, and influence of all are needed,
are afraid to take a frm stand for the right. He
calls for men who will do faithful battle against
wrong, warring against principalities and powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places. It is to
such as these that He will speak the words: “Well
done, good and faithful servant; ... enter thou into
the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:23.
