ထာဝရဘုရား၏ ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ချီးမွမ်း၍၊
² အမြင့်ဆုံးသောဘုရား၏ နာမတော်ကို ထောမနာသီချင်းဆိုခြင်းငှါ၎င်း၊
³ စောင်းနှင့်တကွ ကြိုးဆယ်ပင်ရှိသော တူရိယာ၊ တယော၊ မိကျောင်းတို့ကို တီးခတ်၍၊ ကရုဏာတော်နှင့် သစ္စာတော်ကို နံနက်အချိန်၊ ညအချိန်အစဉ်အတိုင်း ပြခြင်းငှါ၎င်း လျောက်ပတ်ပေ၏။
⁴ အို ထာဝရဘုရား၊ အမှုတော်များအားဖြင့် အကျွန်ုပ်ကို ဝမ်းမြောက်စေတော်မူသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ လက် တော်နှင့် ပြုပြင်တော်မူသမျှတို့ကြောင့် ရွှင်လန်းစွာ သီချင်းဆိုပါမည်။

92—The Love Song for God of the Sabbath

This is a hymn of praises to God, dedicated to the celebration of the Sabbath day, which is about God in a loving relationship with humans. It is the only psalm devoted to that purpose. The poem contains seven times the holy name (Yahweh, the Lord; the only other psalm doing the same is Ps. 19), suggesting a link with the seventh-day Sabbath. This psalm also contains seven descriptions of the wicked (92:6–9) and seven characteristics of the righteous (vv. 12–15). The author expresses deep gratitude for God’s presence, gift of creation, His faithfulness, and many other blessings. It is composed in a beautiful symmetrical (chiastic) structure (see Introduction, “Literary Features”):

92:1–3 Psalmist begins with praises accompanied by music for God’s love and faithfulness. It is good to express gratitude for all God’s abounding blessings which spring from His goodness. Thus, thankfulness is the first “activity” on the day of rest.

92:8 Central verse which glorifies God Himself. The Sabbath is not just a day, it is a celebration of a Person, the exalted Lord. On the Sabbath, the eternal God offers Himself to humanity and invites us to rest in Him and enjoy His presence. Personal relationships and all activities should manifest this jubilant relationship with God.

92:9 The Sabbath has a future (eschatological) dimension. God through the Sabbath teaches us that He will redeem us fully in the future, because so far evil reigns. We are already saved, and evil is already defeated, but not yet in a physical way. For this final triumph of God, we need to patiently wait.

92:15 The Sabbath is a time for proclaiming God’s justice and holiness as well as a time for recounting personal experiences of the Lord being my/our Rock. The Sabbath is a celebration of redemption, of what God has done for us.
